Secure notes and credit card storage review

I decided to try Enpass after using another manager for years because I liked the idea of storing my data locally. I signed up for the Individual plan. The initial download and installation for Windows was straightforward. Importing my existing passwords from my old manager using the Data Import Tool was surprisingly simple, which I appreciated a lot. I've used the secure notes and credit card storage features quite a bit and they perform as expected. The Password Audit Tool also helped me clean up some weak passwords. My only small issue was with the browser extension for Chrome, which sometimes needed a refresh to auto-fill correctly. Delivery was instant, obviously, since it's software.

Great deal on lifetime license

I got the lifetime license during a sale, which was a big factor in my decision. I was looking for a one-time purchase option and this fit the bill perfectly. Setting up the desktop app and mobile app was quick. It feels like a solid investment compared to monthly subscriptions.

Good features, minor setup hiccup

I purchased the Enpass Individual plan and it's been pretty solid for managing my passwords. I like the local data storage option; it gives me peace of mind. Setting it up on all my devices was mostly smooth, though syncing my vaults between my phone and laptop took a couple of tries to get right. Overall, good value for the security features.

Easy to use password manager

I got the Enpass Premium for my personal stuff. It's just really easy to use. I put in all my passwords and now I don't have to remember them all. It worked well on my iPhone and my work computer. No complaints, it just works.

Consistent performance as always

This isn't my first time with Enpass; I've been a user for a few years and just renewed my Premium license. The experience has always been consistent. I rely on it daily for my passwords and secure notes across all my devices. The Wi-Fi Sync option is a lifesaver when I don't want to use cloud services. Glad to see the product maintain its quality.

I have an old discount code from last year. Can I still use promo codes during checkout on their website?

B Brett Kaur 1 month ago
Yeah, there's a spot to enter promo codes during checkout. Whether your old code works depends if it's still active though.

S Sam Okafor 1 month ago
For sure, you can enter codes at checkout. Just paste it in the field. But if it's expired, it won't apply obviously.

I'm thinking about switching from LastPass. Is it easy to move all my stuff over to Enpass, or is it a nightmare?

S Sam W. 2 months ago
Nah, it's pretty straightforward. They have a data import tool that handles it. Just export from LastPass and import into Enpass.

N Nina 2 months ago
Yeah, I did that exact switch. Exported a CSV from LastPass and Enpass imported it like a champ. Took maybe 5 minutes.

So, Enpass doesn't store my data on their servers, right? Where does it actually go then if I use cloud sync?

R Rachel V. 2 months ago
Correct, it's not on their servers. You sync it through your own cloud like Google Drive or Dropbox. It's encrypted before it even leaves your device.

Your encrypted vault goes to your personal cloud storage (OneDrive, iCloud, etc.) if you set that up. Enpass never sees the unencrypted data.

My kid is going to college soon, do they have any student discounts for Enpass? I don't wanna pay full price for them.

R Ryan S. 2 months ago
They often have an educational discount. Check their site, especially around back-to-school time, might find something there.

I remember seeing a student discount mentioned, but I'm not sure if it's always active. Worth checking their support or sales pages.

Can I use my Enpass license on like, my phone, my work laptop, and my home PC? How many devices are included?

G Greg M. 1 month ago
You can use it on a bunch of devices. I think it's unlimited for personal use, as long as it's just you using it.

P Phil F. 1 month ago
Pretty sure it's unlimited devices per individual license. I've got it on my iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows machine no problem.

Is Enpass really safer than something like 1Password or Dashlane because it's not on their servers? Kinda confused by that.

L Laura F. 1 month ago
It's a different security model. With Enpass, you're responsible for your cloud, but they can't be breached to steal your data directly. Some people prefer that.

K Kevin 1 month ago
The main difference is you choose where the encrypted data lives. So if you trust your own cloud provider more than a password manager's servers, then yeah, it's 'safer' in that sense for you. The data itself is still encrypted on your device first anyway.

Hey, wondering if Enpass still does the one-time purchase, lifetime license thing? I hate subscriptions.

J Julia Carter 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely still have it! I got mine during a Black Friday sale last year. Keep an eye out for those big holiday sales.

J June 1 month ago
They do, but it's not always available. Sometimes it's a special promo, especially around sales events like Cyber Monday. It's usually the 'Premium' plan you're looking for.

Does Enpass ever have good sales on their family plan? Looking to get everyone set up but want a deal.

O Omar H. 2 months ago
They definitely do! I got my family plan during a holiday sale for like 30% off. Keep an eye out for Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Yep, seasonal promotions often include family plans. I've seen bundle offers pop up too. Just check their site around major sale periods.
